The Youth at Birmingham First UMC, Birmingham, MI, decided one day over a planning lunch that they wanted to do something BIG for missions. So they've decided to raise one penny for every person afflicted with HIV/AIDS in Africa.
That's 23 MILLION pennies! The penny is a perfect image for this effort because many times we leave pennies lying on the ground not thinking them worth enough even to pick up. Sometimes we even treat our brothers and sisters like that, forgetting their worth and our call to care for them.
