The Flocking fundraiser works like this. You start with a bunch of plastic flamingo yard ornaments on the lawn of the church (or in a side yard if the trustees get a little anxious about that sort of thing). You announce to the congregation (it's great if you can get some of your youth to read it dramatically during the announcements) that a flock of flamingos has invaded your town/city and that there is a possibility they may wander from yard to yard.
